We should never just follow blindly; we are required by God to search the scriptures daily to see if things are true, we are to use discernment and try the spirits, and we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God.
June 10, 1: There are no discussion topics on this book yet. I am almost as far from the charismatic movement as you can get – but was glad to read this. The guru lays his hands on people, and they start to shake, laugh, cry and praise the gods. Also included in this edition are new warnings about Bill Johnson, Bethel church and the New Age-type practices that have been appearing in that movement.
While I’ve always known that there are excesses within the continuationist movement, I never before realized that some of the more bizarre phenomena come directly from the occult. Thanks for telling us about the problem.
