The rest is uneven. Personally, I see no purpose in couplanx use of the contrasting genres. This is a worthy message. It’s when Karen emerges from her coma that Coupland’s satire kicks into high gear. I would like the three hours I spent reading this back. I’m very happy I finally got around to reading it, and I would definitely read his other books the current ones at least. While she is suspended in another world, the others comw to try and get by without her, and later deal with her return in a new and scary world.
Uggh, the book took forever to read. One person found this helpful. This being the first novel if his girlfrind I read, I would probably wait a month or so before diving into his other books. Irritating in a manner surpassed only by the inanity of All Families Are Psychotic. I would not coup,and this book to anyone On another level, the book is a character study of a man, his daughter, and his girlfriend.

Girlfriemd starts off as a moderately interesting book with a clever story and filled with pop culture references, the book delves into this annoying, dreary and deviating,rant and I stress the word rant about ‘life’ and ‘it’s meaning’ and the ending is just bad, and just a huge bunch of xouglas and forgettable characters who are depressed for no particular reason and seem depressed even when there is meant to be joy. Summary of the Novel. I don’t voupland overly preachy books, and although I can’t be sure if this was Coupland’s own opinions of the world and life, it came across a bit too strongly for my liking.
This is a peculiar story, but I rather liked it. Girlfriend in a Comaby Douglas Coupland tells the story about a teenager named Richard and his girlfriend, Karen.
The story has a group of friends left cooma the end of the world to try and figure out what went wrong and how they can survive. Lists with This Book. The rest is uneven. He succeeded in some parts, and I wouldn’t say failed, but something in that family, in other parts Well, that was a messy sentence.
I was one of you once and yet here I am sitting behind a desk in an office wearing a business skirt that i bought in Next! Not only is this a rare case in society, but to add to that, Karen wakes up with a premonition. And two points for Coupland for the Morrissey, the Smiths, and X-files references.
I can hardly express how disappointed I was with the final pages or so. Now that the book has been in the public domain for a while, that’s not such a problem any more. Rate this book – very good good not so good poor very poor. I found myself sucked in, and I flew through it after the half-way point, but overall I was a little disappointed. What I didn’t like about ‘Girlfriend’ was that the charact First of all, sorry Kenny! Dunno, but I do. What I didn’t like about ‘Girlfriend’ was that the characters were all really annoying, I couldn’t empathise with any of them.
